Marja Feinig

Marja Feinig, born in Sveč in Koroška region (Slovenia), has been dealing with music since she was a little girl. In 1987 she got a degree in guitar teaching at Celovec conservatory (Austria) and in 1989 she got a master at Orff Institut, part of the Mozarteum, Salzburg.

For many years she was a teacher of preschool music education and guitar in various Slovenian musical schools in the Koroška region and at the bilingual state school in Celovec (Austria). Since 1991 she has been teaching preschool music education and guitar at the music school Emil Komel in Gorizia. Occasionally she cooperates in music educational projects in kindergartens. 

In 1996 she started conducting the children choir PD Sv. Mihael (Ita), which thrived under her direction. At Zlata grla competition in Sovodnje in 2002 they won the prize for best choir and best program, along with the prize of the public. In the season 2002/2003 she started performing separately with some older girls of the group and they closed up Zlata grla competition in 2003 with the new official name Youth vocal group PD Sv. Mihael. She then conducted the group till 2006. At its foundation the group was made up of seven 8 - 13 years old girls. The group performed in many local events (Mala Ceciljanka, Sovodenjska poje) and in the competition Zlata grla, where it won the golden medal three times, once ex equo with the Choir Emil Komel and then in 2005 and 2006. In 2006 Marja Feinig left the conduction of the vocal group in the hands of a younger director.

She is currently teaching at the music school Emil Komel and conducting the choir Ladjica in Devin.
